Carlo Prater Carlo “Neo” Prater immerged on the Art of War scene with a controversial win in Art of War 1 over undefeated Anthony Lapsley. The match between Carlo and Anthony set the benchmark in the quality and professionalism that Art of War brings to the MMA community. The match ended with Carlo wining by a unanimous decision. Carlo will be making his second appearance with AOW and will play a key role as a member of the Brazilian team. He will need to step up his game as they take on team USA with its new breed of American MMA superstars. Carlo stands 6’ tall and weighes 170 lbs. He holds an impressive professional MMA record of 20 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw to professional MMA fighter Sauli Hellimo. The 28 year old Brazilian native lives and trains in Brasilia, where he practices a unique fighting style combining the art of Thugjitsu, Luta Livre, and Muay Thai. The art of Thugjitsu was first established in The Revolution Dojo out of Houston, Texas by Yves Edwards. Thugjitsu is considered a melting pot of four different fighting styles; mixing boxing, Thai kickboxing, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Thugjitsu training is based around the concept of training like it’s the real thing, feeding the students a steady diet of physical blows. In Carlos’ use of his various combat art forms, he feels that his best weapons are his knees, throws, and chokes. He won the 2000 Brazilian Luta Livre Championship, is currently the FFC welterweight champion, and is four-time renegades tournament champion. On a more personal note, Carlo is a new proud father of a baby boy named Apollo and is engaged to fiancé Raquel. |
